Belgian Waffles

Makes 5-6 waffles depending on the size of your waffle iron.


  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Whisk all dry ingredients. Add buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and melted butter. Mix until well combined. Makes about 4 cups of batter.

Prepare waffle iron, lightly butter and use according to directions.

Serve waffles with strawberries, whipped cream and warm maple syrup. This recipe is a favorite for a weekend breakfast, as part of a brunch or on a snowy day. Enjoy
