January 01, 2026
There is an underlying brightness about starting a new year and we’re ready to press the reset button for an invigorating new chapter. The possibility to create new energy and move ahead with positivity, hope, and joy brings us comfort and healing. Whatever you decide to take with you into the new year or leave behind, let’s set aside time to reflect, set intentions if that is helpful for you, and prioritize the process of simplifying our daily routines and focusing on what’s really important in our lives. Here’s to perspective, new opportunities, adventure, wellness, gratitude, and all the joy and love 2026 can bring us!

In our growing partager la joie community we look forward to inspiring each other with our aspirations and intentions for the coming year. It’s a moment to reflect on the past and think about what we would really like to see happen over the course of the new year—learning something new, starting a project we’ve been thinking about, getting organized, travel, prioritizing our time, and reconnecting with friends are just a few possibilities for the coming year. Starting fresh gives us a blank canvas to design. At plj this means our first book will be coming to life and we are beyond excited to share it with you!

Ready to set your own intentions for the new year? We encourage you to join us in creating some sort of visual for the upcoming year—a pin board, collage, inspiration scrapbook or illustrated journal which helps us to see our ideas, goals and dreams. Think about what inspires you. For example, if you're a design person or you love to cook, it could be as simple as starting with a new color palette or texture you’d like to capture in your home or a list of healthy ingredients you’d like to incorporate into your menus for you and your family this year. The most important thing here, whatever your aspirations, is to keep your thoughts positive. Encouragement is empowering. Minimizing yourself is not at all helpful, so know that whatever it is you’d like to change, you’ll have much better success setting your intentions with positivity in mind.

Our hopes for 2026 at plj are about healing, new growth, wellness, longevity, and focusing on a balanced life perspective. Here’s our list of thoughts as we transition into the new year—you’re welcome to use them as a guide as you customize your own:

Create a vision board for inspiration: This can simply be a collected list of things that have inspired you over the year or it can be a more tangible visual board with a specific theme. For example, for home design, incorporate paint colors, fabric swatches, fixtures you may like, accessory ideas for a specific living space, etc. Vision boards also work well for travel ideas—places you’d like to visit—it’s quite inspiring to have things to look forward to for the new year!
Maintain a healthy mind/body balance: Filling our bodies with nutritious whole foods, drinking plenty of water, and leading an active lifestyle with time for mindfulness and self-care are always our priority when starting a new year.
Focus on positivity: Looking at how we start our day does amazing things for setting the tone of the day ahead. What you say to yourself is so important. Look to nature for inspiration, sip warm water with lemon or an herbal infusion, and take a few minutes just to organize your thoughts by meditating, listening to music, or setting a diffuser with essential oils to begin the morning with a calm and collected feeling.
Find fulfillment in what we do: We believe that everyone needs to feel purpose in their role and this is something unique to each individual. If you like what you have and place value in yourself and how you spend your time, you will find more fulfillment in the everyday.
Be a good listener (especially to yourself): Learning to pause in conversation with others or even in our own thoughts allows us the opportunity to understand and react better in stressful situations. When we stop and take a moment to think, we process more deeply and make new connections.
Kindness always: Encouraging each other to be kind and appreciating differences and opinions of those around us is vital to being part of a supportive community.
Surround ourselves with people we love and hold them close. We all know that life moves quickly. So really trying to appreciate all our moments (even the challenging ones) will help us grow. Gratitude goes a long way to discovering our joy.
Find our inspiration: The more we keep learning and experiencing, we are nourishing our minds. Don’t be afraid to challenge ourselves and try new things.
Practice stillness: Let’s be patient with ourselves in 2026! We can’t do everything well all at once. Giving ourselves time and space to be quiet and calm is essential for growth.
Make small shifts in our lifestyle to help find a healthy balance while leaving room to grow. Let’s move on from the mindset of doing what is comfortable to doing what is possible!
Put a high priority on taking care or yourself. It's really ok to say no, if something doesn’t suit you or if the timing isn’t right.
Wellness Reset

With the holidays behind us, we like to reprioritize wellness in all our daily routines. Develop good sleeping habits. Take time to unplug. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, stay hydrated, and add a new year’s boost to our fitness program. This can be a great moment to add something new to a workout routine or incorporate a weekly brisk winter walk with a friend. Giving renewed attention to your sleep schedule can really add a lift—we often underestimate the importance of getting a good sleep. Waking up refreshed in the morning is sure to lead to a more productive and energized day.

Mindfulness Matters: the Power of Positivity
Be inspired to make a mindfulness practice part of your new year. Incorporating mindful moments into your already busy day may seem like an overwhelming task. However, what it really means is taking the time to be in the present moment. Give yourself permission to think about how you feel, appreciate your surroundings, and enjoy the little moments of joy that occur each day. Setting aside a few moments every day for some form of meditation is key to recentering your mind-body balance. Journaling helps to organize your thoughts. Remember, it’s ok to be still—in fact, we are focusing on this as part of our new year plans. Join us in giving yourself a chance to relax and enjoy some well-deserved time to sip some tea, take a walk, watch the sunrise/sunset, read a new book, or just reflect on your thoughts and aspirations for the coming year.

When we look at life through the lens of positivity, we’re able to see beyond the daily bumps in the road and open our minds and hearts to the many possibilities in front of us. This gets to the essence of our brand at plj— the vision that joy comes in many forms, and the more we do to welcome joy into our own lives the more we are able to share it with all the special people in our lives. As the year renews, think about how you can share the joy by deepening your appreciation of meaningful moments in the everyday, focus on wellness in body and mind, and surround yourself with people you love.
Calming Routines

We have found that sipping something warm encourages us to slow down. Our go-to is to start every day with warm lemon water. You can add ginger and turmeric, or make your morning starter an herbal tea. Besides the noted health benefits of ingredients like ginger, turmeric and lemon in digestion, anti-inflammation and overall wellness, the ritual of drinking non-caffeinated infusions or teas has become part of our daily routine. Give this a try—we think you're going to love it too!

Energize your Environment

Let’s refresh our living spaces! Adding some light is an amazing way to invigorate how we live, especially when daylight is shorter. Winter is the perfect moment to organize, declutter, prioritize, and reset your wellbeing to find joy in your home.

Uplift your Senses
Add some form of aromatherapy to your home—we love to use diffusers. A few drops of your favorite scent does wonders to brighten a room. Lavender for calm, citrus scents for invigorate and eucalyptus to add freshness and clear congestion during cold weather months.

Lighten your Indoor Spaces
The start of a new year is the ideal time to declutter your home. Once you pack away the holiday decor—take time to organize closets, pantry, your office and any other living space that feels tired. Donating clothes, coats, and any gently used items you have accumulated. Restocking the pantry with nutritious items provides a clean slate to setting up a healthy eating/cooking routine. This is the time we love to brighten our spaces. Crisp home linens, freshly scented candles, a new indoor plant or a vase of fresh flowers or blooming stems, softly textured neutral throw blankets and new tableware—all of these can usher in a sense of casual, clean and calm elegance to our home.
Winter Epicure

Brunch Date
Sunday brunch has become a ritual we welcome. We find that changing up our weekly routine encourages us to look at Sundays from a more leisurely perspective than a typical work day. Gathering at home or meeting at a favorite spot is a wonderful way to catch up with loved ones, relax and enjoy the weekends. See our epicure for plenty of inspiration for hosting a brunch and check out some of our highlights—or tag us in your own!—on IG.

Food that Warms the Soul
Soup season means it's time to enjoy a comforting bowl full of goodness. Flavorful and packed with nutritious ingredients, soup can serve as a dinner staple during the winter months. Healthy soups are also a wonderfully nourishing way to lighten up our menu after our holiday indulgences, a little detox—the clean start we’re all looking for as we start a new year. It’s a deeply hydrating way to eat, too. Take a break from elaborate meal planning and keep cooking simple this month with our classic chicken, roasted vegetable minestrone, coconut curry butternut squash, and lentil with spinach recipes.

Fresh Menus for a New Year
Turning the calendar page to January gives us an ideal moment to balance our menus with plenty of healthy vegetables and bright citrus notes. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables are part of our winter meal planning—we just can’t get enough of leeks, carrots, kale, ginger, lemons, oranges, grapefruit, and pineapple this month.

Our morning glory muffins are a handy, nutritious on-the-go breakfast for the whole family as we go back to work and school after the holidays. Jump-start the day with a warm glass of lemon water as a simple hydrating tonic. A green juice with ginger, lemon, and kale is also a great way to reset and re-boost our immunity after the holidays. A warming turmeric latte or a bright ginger tea is a perfect, non-caffeinated afternoon treat.

For winter weeknights, soups and stews are both nourishing and comforting, but we like to create balance by keeping them light and fresh, with extra emphasis on vegetables. Planning a special weekend gathering? Whatever the occasion, we’ve got you covered with plenty of inspiration, from Belgian waffles with cinnamon whipped cream to our roasted chicken with root vegetables, our sumptuous tomato and burrata pasta, or a fresh and zesty stir-fry.

It’s a new year and we like our space to feel airy, light, and bright! Keep your design palette for table settings and flower arrangements simple. Winter bulbs and branches accented by sprigs of greens can go a long way toward creating a winter tablescape or an arrangement in your home. Mix in assorted votives and candles to reflect the natural elements of the season. Use simple blooming green branches like eucalyptus, olive or lemon leaf in your vases. Monochromatic flower arrangements like orchids add classic elegance to your living spaces.

A Chapter for Renewal

Our hope is to start 2026 with a sense of renewal—a healing perspective filled with positivity and growth and gratitude at the opportunity for a healthy reset. As we edit our lifestyles, take stock of our possibilities, renew what strengthens us, and cultivate kindness, let's find inspiration in each other! The more we keep learning, sharing what we’ve accomplished, and making time for connection and conversation with each other, the better we make this world—and our place in it.

At partager la joie, we love inspiring our community to find joy in cultivating beautiful spaces and occasions to cherish one another. This seemingly simple intention has come to resonate with many and we are grateful for this space to share the joy with you. We’re looking forward to expanding this vision in the coming year through our book project, and we can’t wait to share the adventure with you. Thank you for the wonderful ways you’ve enhanced our community over the years—what a beautiful journey we’re on together.
