Topping:
-1/3 cup flour
- 1/3 cup oats
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
-1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup butter( 1/2 stick) cut into pieces
Combine all dry ingredients in a mixing bowl and cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Refrigerate topping
Blondie:
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup oats
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp Kosher salt
- 2 cups brown sugar
-2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup melted butter (1 stick)
- 2 cups of peeled, cored and chopped autumn pears of your choice( a mixture of varieties works well)
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, oats, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Set aside. In a separate bowl mix eggs, sugar and vanilla. Combine with dry ingredients. Add cooled melted butter and pears and fold until batter is well mixed. Pour batter into a prepared square or rectangular baking pan. Add topping to mixture. Bake at 350F for 30-35 minutes. Let cool and cut into squares.
